Wintercreek Shelties is a small hobby kennel, located in the rural suburbs of Portland, Oregon.

Upon moving to the area, we began to think of a name for our Sheltie line.  As the first Oregon winter approached, a small stream developed in the front acreage of our property.  The name Wintercreek Shelties seemed an obvious choice.

There has almost always been a sheltie in our lives.  Raising our two sons, we had owned a wonderful pet sable Sheltie named Bucks.  The joy of owning this amazing dog led us to our dream of breeding and showing Shetland Sheepdogs.

Wintercreek Shelties are bred and raised with love and care.  Health and temperament are first on the list when choosing to purchase a dog or breed a litter.  All Wintercreek adult Shelties, that are shown or used for breeding, are tested for hips OFA, vWD, Thyroid and Eyes are certified.

Wintercreek  Shelties occasionally has puppies available for show and pet homes.   Each litter is carefully researched and planned with attention focused on health first.  The sire and dam must meet strict criteria  for health and temperament.  The puppies are reared in a wonderful, made-to-order “Sheltie friendly” family room.  The pups stay with their Mother until at least five weeks of age and usually longer.  After the puppies are weaned, the Mother still plays an important part in their development. She spends time playing, eating and running with them.  She provides discipline that only she can teach which produces a happier, more well-behaved puppy. 

All pets are sold on a spay-neuter contract.  To inquire about the availability of pet puppies, please email Wintercreek through the website.  Please include information to Wintercreek including your preference, family situation and environment the puppy will be raised.  At Wintercreek Shelties, we encourage you to visit us and our dogs and “meet the parents” of the puppies.

Wintercreek Shelties can be seen in AKC dog shows throughout the Northwest, as well as around the country.

Wintercreek Shelties is proud to have multiple American Shetland Sheepdog Association (ASSA) National placement winners:

BPIS Ch. Coastal Wintercreek Mas Tequila “Buzz” by 2 ½ years old has placed at the 2005 and 2006 ASSA National.

Multiple BISS Ch. Coastal Wintercreek Storm Warning “Flash” was Reserve Winners dog at his first ASSA National in Virginia Beach in 2006.  This was quite an accomplishment when competing with hundreds of shelties in one dog show.

Neahm’s Wintercreek Chasing Trouble “Chase” placed at the 2005 National and already has his first major.

We are both Members, in good standing, of the Pacific Northwest Shetland Sheepdog Club (PNWSSC), holding office positions for the last four years.  In addition, we are both active in fund raising for Sheltie Rescue and are happy to participate in local education for new and continuing Shetland Sheepdog owners.
